Sharing and building Solution Focused practice in organisations

A technical question: I've uploaded my photos and want to make sure that they're visible to SOLWorld people only, and not the whole wide world. I think they are currently set to be seen by 'friends only'. I don't know if you can see them if you're not a friend of mine!? Perhaps someone can let me know? The photos seem to be showing on the main SOLworld Ning page even if you're not signed in? Does anyone understand the privacy on these?
Thanks
Sue

Hi Sue,

Yes, you can decide who you want to be able to view your photos. To change the default setting for this go to the “My Settings” link in the box on the right column of the page. Then click the ‘Privacy’ tab on the left of the page. Here you choose to allow anyone, just your friends, or just you to see your photos. You can also override this setting as you upload each photo. You can also choose who can comment on your photos in “My Settings.” I think you can't quite do the thing you want to do, which is members (not just friends). However, the platform is being continually developed by ning and I will put in a request. Don't hold your breath though... ;-)

Hope this helps.
Cheers, Mark
I have been doing some more research... We could achieve what you want, but only by making the whole network visible only to members (apart from the front page which would be visible publically). What do you think? I personally think we should be as public as possible here in general terms.
Well I guess this is all young and exciting and we're in a state of 'not knowing' how it works. I agree that we don't want to be a closed shop... it's useful for people to know about the public/private thing on photos so they can decide what to make available.
Phew... time I got off this site and went to bed, I think!
see you back here soon
Thanks Mark
I guess I/we just need to check that I/we don't post anything too compromising or embarrassing then!
Sue
Thanks Sue. You can also set the privacy for each photo individually, but only when you upload it I think. Maybe that would help too.
yep, thanks
Hi Sue - and all others: I checked it - and found out: Anybody in the world can see all contributions (postings, photos, discussion,...) but cannot reply to them.
