Sharing and building Solution Focused practice in organisations

Landmark SFBT book - management cases/uses/examples wanted please

Hi everyone,

I am delighted to have been asked to contribute a chapter to a forthcoming landmark book on SF practice. Oxford University Press were talking to Insoo at the time of her death about a volume bringing together the state of the art particularly in terms of research into SFBT - a pretty academic book is in the offing. The project is now being coordinated by Cynthia Franklin (University of Texas at Austin) and will be edited by a team including Terry Trepper, Wally Gingerich and Eric McCulloch.

I was asked to do a chapter onto reseach in SF practice in organisations. I replied that (one or two notable exceptions including Gunter Lueger's work in Norway aside) there has been little real academic research (like therapy outcome research), as organisations are not usually too interested in that. What does exist is a lot of experience of applying SF ideas in various ways in organisational settings. So I agreed to write a chapter bringing together what there exists in terms of reasonably well-documented applications of SF in organisational work, either from managers or consultants.

So... This is a chance to blow your own trumpet in terms of work you know about! I am keen to hear examples of SF in action in which some degree on confidence can be based. This means that I'm looking for some kind of supporting evidence - which may be a client report, an article from an in-house company newspaper, a write-up of some kind... Even if it's quite informal, some kind of supporting documentation. I know about the cases in Solutions Focus Working, and Gunter's work (about which he will write separately). What else is there?

So, please do feel free to let the list know about what you've been doing, and send me (offlist, since the list does not support attachments) information plus supporting docs. Even an email from someone in the organisation would be fine. I will be putting this request on the solworld.ning.com site and the UKASFP list too. They want the chapter by the end of March, so I am asking for info by the end of February please. Looking forward to hearing from you!
