Living and working in Africa I'm deeply influenced by the philosophy and practices of ubuntu - "I am because we are". This way of being in the world was both deeply troubling andreassuring while I…Continue

Good news - South Africa's connections with Solution-focused Brief Thinking & Practice is visible in the recently published celebration of Steve and Insoo's lives and work. EBTA conference is about to take place in Poland. And there is talk of creating some kind of body at which national associations are represented. Are there any African nations with national bodies for SF or SFB? If yes, please post where and who to contact.
I'd like to imagine that our voices and contributions will be welcomed at EBTA if it emerges in a re-structured form and / or in any new international organisation formed via national associations.
Is it time to develop a South African national association for SF(B)?
Please post your thoughts. Tx svea
Well, it has been some time since I posted but, better sometime than never! At the recent SOL conference in Oxford I was privileged to talk with 2 women from Uganda who stood out for their incisive questions and comments about the intircacies of the langauge that is core to SF. We discovered we'd all participated in the SolutionSurfers Brief Coaching programme - and we were hearing it in each others language!
Anyone else got a story about making connections via hearing a familiar way of speaking?

You want to learn more about "Solution Focus"?
You prefer a "step by step" introduction instead to start with reading some voluminous books?
You would appreciate to have a complete "helicopter view" on SF after the first step… Continue
