- I have senior management background in various aspects of organisational change and service development within the Public and Community sectors, plus in management and training consultancy work in these areas as well as in the Private sector. I currently run a Government Pilot project in West Yorkshire, UK, which is developing new approaches for working with 'disengaged' young people.
Last year, on a colleague's recommendation I brought in John Hendon (from Bristol) to train all my field workers in the SF approach to Interviewing. Not knowing about SF previously, I attended John's workshops myself. I was amazed at the similarity between SF and the principles and methods I had been evolving over recent years in my own people-work, management and consultancy. I naturally wanted to investigate further so this year I have attended the SF Professional Course led by Mark McKergow and Jenny Clarke. Linked to this course, I have carried out a project examining the use of SF to augment team "maturation". I am hoping to present the write-up of this project for peer-review by the new SFCT organisation.
As I write I am in the early stages of setting up "Rising Wing" - my own SF Coaching & Facilitation Practise. I hope to operate Rising Wing both in the UK and in France.
