The diary project initiated by Gale Miller at the Malmo SFBT&P Summit in May 2010 is quietly gaining momentum here in South Africa. I am steadily conducting a snowball of conversations with people using SFB thinking and practice in their work. And, to spread the range and gather more contributions quickly, I have composed a set of questions that you can respond to, and then e-mail back to me.

This project is about locating SFB thought and practice in time and space as a way of developing a picture of how SFB thought and practice is manifesting in 2010.

You can e-mail me on svea@solutionfocusedfutures.com

hello and welcome Madi. Good to speak with you recently. The book is about to leave Cape Town to be on its way to you. Happy reading. Would be interested to hear your comments about the two books by Peter Szabo - the earlier and longer blue book with Insoo and the more recent slimmer one with Daniel. Best wishes, Svea

Good evening Switzerland (amongst other connections) in Africa.
Good to hear from you and welcome to having expanded your work to another continent. I look forward to trading training stories about Brief Coaching Cape Town and Brief Coaching Kampala when we see each other later in Basel. 24 participants - impressive and likely to create a ripple that makes a difference.

Good Morning - Africa
I have just delivered my first 4 training days of a Brief Coach Training in Kampala, Uganda. It was my first time in Africa and I was so pleasantly thrilled about the 24 participants:
- extremely hardworking when it comes to getting the most out of 7.5 training hours a days
- very serious in creating and maintaining a learning atmosphere of mutual exchange and discovery
- full of smiles, energy, rythm and laughter, when it come to playfully taking in "some theory"
- exceptionally fast-learning and brilliant in understanding the essence of Brief Coaching
- unstoppable in immediately trying out and putting to practice whatever works.
I am very much looking forward to next time in Ocotber

Great idea and thanks for zooming in on Ubuntu, Svea...!
I also agree with Lizette's sentiments about a space for Africa - and for discussions within a South Africa community there's also SOL-SA on LinkedIn....
We work in the private and public sectors, we train coaches and consultants and share the philosophies of SF-Thinking, e.g. in 'supervision' -- C-i-C, short for Coaching-Communities- in -Caring-Connectedness.

Hallo everyone.
Lovely to see you connecting here, Belinda!
I am looking forward to have this space to interact about SF work in Africa, and especially in South Africa. We (the Coaching Cafe) work mostly in business and would love to SF brief practice become more recognised and used in African business contexts.

Dear Svea,
would like to join to learn about Africa and to learn on how to better discover and understand the Hungarian situation.
Guess your way of exploring will be useful for me...
Take care
Monika
